Vintage omega sea master

Dropped off necklace at local jeweler for repair and asked about watches. Had this omega seamaster with an inscription date of 1960 on case back in the safe. Customer dropped off did not pick back up. Fully serviced. Asking $950.00 us

is that a good price? can’t find other examples.

Looks like a 2846. $950 is a good deal if its been serviced and has the original bracelet. Nice find.

If the movement is a Cal.351 it should be a '51. There are some good websites devoted to vintage Omega out there. If the movement and dial are original and the rest is authentic then it is a good retail price.

All of that comes with the usual caveats. I am just a random dude with an internet connection. Caveat emptor.

The bracelet had no markings that I could tell. How do I know if it’s the original? thank you

The original would have come with an Omega logo on the clasp, there are also markings on the end links but with no logo on the clasp at very least that has been replaced.

No omega markings on the clasp. No brand whatsoever. Bracelet felt light and metal seemed cheap. But I have never touched a real old omega bracelet either

thank you

Here is pretty much the same watch that is said to come with the original bracelet 1036 with #12 end links: https://vintagewatchspecialist.com/products/c-1954-omega-seamaster-automatic-model-ref-2846-2848-1sc-beads-of-rice-bracelet

I think you could talk him down. If his story about it sitting in a safe is true then he basically got it for free and isn't being proactive about selling it. Also I feel like non-Constellations vintage Omegas are usually closer to the 400-600 range. Offer 800 and see what he says.

88 is right...he has nothing into it other than labor/parts?  Sounds like an opportunity for some negotiation

I have not gone back to pick up the necklace at the shop as of yet. When I do I plan to work on the price. I will update when we do. Thank you.
