Reverso: A Masterpiece of Art Deco Design

The Reverso, born out of a challenge to design a watch that could withstand the polo matches of British Army officers in India, became a paragon of Art Deco design.

Its reversible case not only protected the watch face but also introduced a new way to personalize watches with engraved decorations on the caseback.

The Reverso's enduring appeal lies in its combination of elegance, functionality, and the capacity for personalization, making each piece uniquely significant to its owner.

How would you personalize this watch if all your requests were possible?

For me it would be to have this Dali painting at the back....

An extremely detailed image of the movement.

(JLC already rejected this)

Work of art at your wrist 👌.

What did JLC rejected ?

·

I wanted to have a Mickey Mouse engraved but it was rejected by JLC due to copyright. I did not know this upon purchase. The case back is still not yet engraved. Hope to get some Inspirations from fellow WC-ers.

horrible paintings, totally not on the level of JLC reverse, if you are going to put art on this part of back of dial make it Salvator Mundi,, or something equally awe inspiring

I asked for an engraving of the 822 movement. (I provided a scan from Springs and Gears). They wouldn't do it.

"They won't do any movement images for proprietary reasons. I did ask. I would chose something else.

Warm Regards,

Laurie "

They also won't engrave a watch face. I can do it at an external engraving house, but I thought it would be cooler if JLC etched the 822 on the back

But wouldnt that turn it into an homage watch?

Id prefer the original font by Trochut.

Hmm don’t know Trochut?
