Serica 4512 on Sting Ray

Loving the look of my Serica 4512 California Dial on a sting ray leather strap!

The brush to polish transition on the bezel is just outstanding. I already own the 5303, I'm a big fan of this brand

While I’m happy with the stand-in I own, I think if I ever came across a good deal on an California dial RH 4512 I would pull the trigger. It really speaks to me

Yeah I like every watch they have made. This is the only one ive pulled the trigger on, but I think I would love to have the diver at some point as well.

Yeah. Their design language spoke to me from the first time I saw their watches. Really clean, elegant and unique enough without being over the top.

I like the case that the diver uses but…

  • idk I would think it would work on the successor to the 4215 but idk. Maybe it’s the other details that detract from it, for me?

  • The lack of the railroad plus the additional text track ring takes away from the design to me.

  • the change to an automatic movement takes away some of the charm

  • and I dislike exoticism of French on the new dial. It would look more cohesive with if it had “SUISSE” instead of the English “SWISS” at the bottom.

  • This is an extra point, but I’ve found dials that just use meters look cleaner with their text and San Martin made a good call but using a lollipop counterweight on the seconds hand

As for their other watches, I would like the GMT more if it didn’t use an inferior format for…reasons?
