Disney and Citizen

Looks like Timex isn't taking any shelf space at the shops in Disneyland, all I saw were Citizen and Bulova. Of course, I also didn't scour the entire park for all watches, but from two days of wandering, this is all I could find.

Here are a couple examples I liked, I just could not consider myself a character watch kind of guy. I'll wear a funky strap on occasion, but that's it. Didn't find any Marvel or Pixar pieces.

Cheers!

Huge Disney and watch nerd here. I don’t like the current offers of the past 15+ years in the parks. I have a vintage Mickey that I am getting a strap for that I like. But it is so small.

Nuthin wrong with small watches.

I hadn’t kept track of Disney’s watch game, but it seemed like they had a good thing going with Timex.

What’s turned you away with their recent offers?

I think this is my favorite citizen Mickey. A little bit more subtle with the propeller acting as a small seconds.

I really want something higher end. I am not their target demographic man I don’t think.

Some of the simpler Mickey dials are fine. I just prefer better movements.

A while ago Shinola had a short lived deal with Disney. You can still find some of these around. A little more subtle and adult. Not the best movement (quartz Ronda I think) but better made with sapphire then your average citizen eco-drive.

I love that one with the broken 9 and all the little details my wife has it and switched out the strap for a brown Bark and Jack leather straps. It dresses it up a little.

I don’t like their straps but the watches are fun as hell. I threw the Donald Duck diver on a yellow nato and really enjoy wearing it. Only thing I don’t like is that the bezel doesn’t rotate.

Enjoy the time there. Love Disney.

It was a good time had by all in our party. One meltdown per person in two days is a good enough survival rate for me.

Forget water resistance, watches need meltdown resistance, especially at theme parks

I like the Disney / Beams Mickey watches on eBay but they are way too much… so I found this Timex Mickey Chrono and picked it up for like $55 on eBay. Not bad for basically brand new.

This watch was released in red, blue, and orange. The orange is the only one I could find for an affordable price.

For me, a Mickey watch is either Mickey with hour and minute hands or it has to be subtle.

I do think this one looks really nice;
