Perfectly accurate Seiko??

My new Seiko lost 50 seconds over the course of the first 4 days of owning it but has now lost 0 seconds over the last 2! Didn't know that was possible!

Even to those who adhere to the "movement settling myth" this is a bit extreme.

I had a Seiko run +25 the first day, but by day 3 it was close to 0, and has run between 0 and +4 since. Maybe it was the extreme cold during shipping? But I’ve experienced the “settling”.

Self-regulating Seiko…that’ll be the next watch innovation.

Interesting too know you had a similar experience. When I came back from work today and looked at it I was like "No way!"

Position can also make a huge difference. Leaving it sitting in one position all day can have very different results from wearing it on wrist. Without putting it on a timegrapher it's hard to know for sure.

As the comment above says, the position in which you leave the watch overnight plays a huge role in the accuracy in my experience. If I leave my Seiko 5 half-standing before going to bed, the overall accuracy will be around +- 0-1 second a day which is weird and nobody is going to believe me. After setting it up 4 months ago, it still runs 40 seconds fast, but to be clear - it was running pretty much the same after only a few weeks after setting the time. I think it runs fast and slow multiple times over night every night so at the end of the day it is always 30-40 seconds fast even after a few months.
