KILLING TIME

My wife jokes that I have exactly 3 love affairs in my flawed life, she is not certain that she comes first, haha! It is not even a discussion, my watches and the ancient building that we still stubbornly reside in are distant 2nd and 3rd. I admit that I abandoned collecting vintage watches because of my frustration in restoring and making something aged work as something contemporary but an old building is a project that can be solved over time. I hired a very capable small projects contractor to move a security door 3 ft by installing a new wooden door frame. The project is longer than he predicted and feels that he will lose money, a watch that I special ordered has finally arrived at my ad’s boutique after several delays. I am now prevented from arriving at the shop to pick up my new timepiece, an pleasant chore that cannot happen until next week due to regular commitments.

I have always favoured watches bigger than 38-39mm in size despite having a wrist size just under 7 inches( I never measured my wrists). While I wait to pay for the door placement project, upon completion I decided to measure my wrist for the first time always assuming that it is a size that is quite regular for men my height and weight, I am surprised to learn that my right wrist measures more than 8inches while my left is more slender. I no longer question a fella with a 6.5 inch wrist declining to buy bigger watches. Hopefully Breitling and Panerai continue to launch watches for guys like me.
