Tudor QC

I have bought a Tudor BB58. Unfortunately when it arrived from the AD, the bezel insert was fairly misaligned to the dial.

Needless to say it was returned in a heartbeat.

Since than m, I have seen many qc issues regarding BB58s with similar misalignment or dial markers not lining up. Maybe I am just looking for it too much…

Even though I had a full refund, it did put me off from getting another.

What are your experiences with the brand and the watch in particular?

Unfortunately I don’t think this is all that uncommon. I recently tried a pelagos 39mm at the AD only to find out the strap had been manufactured incorrectly. The staff didn’t seem hugely shocked. I should say, I absolutely love Tudor but they do seem to let themselves down a little too often.

Yikes

So this isn’t just a Seiko issue?

With any mass produced products, you’re going to find issues here and there.

And yes, when searching online you’re going to find complaints as most people focus on the negative.

I own 2 BB58 and love them. I’ve had no issues with Tudor.

Agreed. Just that the amount of complaints about Seiko QC seem unwarranted given the price, especially seeing it occur on watches 10-20x more expensive

My Seikos have better alignment funny enough

No bezels for me unless it’s on Pelegos 39 mm . Haven’t seen a single complaint about their build quality

I too own several Tudor watches, three to be exact and have had no issues.

Misaligned bezels is IP that Seiko have patented! Seiko should sue!

My 2 cents ...

I have 3 Tudor and my BB58 was returned 2x for servicing. The first time was 4 days after I bought it. I had like bubbles of " ? glue ? " next to the indices and dusts on the dial. They replaced the dial but the dust was not all gone after servicing so I refused the repair and sent it back. It is ok now. My BBPro and the Glamour Date Day are perfect.

Last week, I was looking at the BB58 and I could see only the 10, 20 and 30 indices lining up with the indices but not the 40 and 50. Line up meaning the indice sit between the 5 and 0 and 4 and 0. Look at your picture, the indice is lined up with the 0 and is not between the 5 and 0. I was thinking of sending my BB58 back again. My wife (who is tired of hearing me taking about watches) told me it was fine. She told me that I was not considering the dome crystal since it introduces some viewing error. <don't shoot me now> I just tilted my watch a little and everything was lined up perfectly on my BB58 so she was right.

I had the red triangle printed slightly off axis. Got Tudor to replace the bezel insert under warranty and it took 2 weeks to come back from Switzerland. Annoying but no fuss fix, still a great watch
