Ricoh Auto Deluxe 8 How to quickset

So I got this pretty nice copy of the Auto Deluxe 8 from the latest buyee haul. Does anyone know how to adjust the date and day? I am trying the crown/stem and I seem to be only getting 1 position.

Have you tried pushing the crown in? I have several watches where you push to set the day or date.

Pretty sure (similar to setting the time) you pull out the crown, and for setting the date you have to do it by going out to 3am, then counterclockwise passed midnight to like 8pm, then clockwise passed midnight back to 3pm, etc. Just going back and forth. The day and/or date should switch.

For the day, you would just spin clockwise until the day changes manually each time around midnight (really 11pm to 3am-ish, or whenever it is for your watch).

Might have the day/date mixed up there, but I also think it depends on a watch.

just had a go at it. We need to set the day of the week first then going back and forth between 3am and 8pm will move the date of the month forward. Thanks man!

You’re welcome, glad it worked out for you. I had a vintage Helbros day date that worked similarly. Enjoy the watch. It’s great looking.
