Does anyone know if “special” on these actually meant anything more than just Daini rather than Suwa? I never got to the bottom of it …
The last time I looked into the matter, I read that the "Special" designation meant that the watches were regulated by Daini to run within plus or minus 3 seconds a day. I don't recall the source.
