Range Anxiety

What's that got to do with watches you ask. Well usually not much, it's the thing with these new fangled non engined cars, will it get us to the coast n back, can we eek out another trip to the shops. For the watch world, generally non applicable.

Unless you've got the old seiko kinetics. Which as you can see I have a pair. Anyway earlier on this year I found this pair languishing in the back of a drawer and decided to resurrect them, new capacitors, case back gaskets and removed the rotors and gave the bearings an oil. And they're my new work watches (used to be my best watches many years ago) Well I've just got back from holiday and they're been going strong for 13 days, not even the 2 second tick. So no range anxiety with these two, coast n back no drama. Now I don't know how long they'll go for as it's not recommended to run them flat but it's not bad going and timekeeping the newer white faced one was bang on the money and the older sliver faced one 2 minutes out (not bad for a 25 Yr old watch). I'll add here the capacitors I used are the Panasonic MT 920. So if you've got a kinetic (or 2) laying about give them some love and get em worn.

Nice Phoenix from the ashes story! And cool watches too.
