Sleeved Bracelet Pins? No problem.

Everybody hate sleeved bracelet pins, am I right? I did too till today.

We were at Intersect Atlanta this weekend and this morning I set about sizing bracelets. So I collected my tools then first went with my trusty dusty hamer driven pin remover. Opps, bent two pins, broke another, so I gave up on that device. Can you say frustration? Then I remembered I had bought a screw horizontal pin remover that I have never used. See below.

World of difference! Worked like a charm!

From now on, if sleeved pins, this is the go to device. Much easier!

Just passing on some wisdom/opinion.

Pins are by far the easiest, then Screws. Pins and Collars are an abomination with no clear purpose or value IMO.

Pin & collar is great, most of the frustration comes from not approaching it with the right tools/technique (in which case it becomes a nightmare). Screw pins are everyone’s favorite but 90% of people do not break or use loctite. Resulting in stripped screws or bracelets falling apart. Cotter pins are just terrible and not a very secure option.

After trying lots of tools I recommend a good bracelet block, pin, and hammer with plastic head for pin & collar. Tweezers also make it much easier to handle the parts. Here’s an older tutorial I made
