Peak Casio?
In the course of researching my new old watch, I came across a fun specimen of retro ephemera: the 1989-1990 Houston Jewelry Catalog. Only a few of its many pages are dedicated to watches, and very little of what's there is of horological interest as such; it's really a selection (unsurprisingly) of jewelry, and most of that in styles that have passed into history unmourned. But the 2-page spread of Casios and Timexes (Timeces?) attached here got my pulse racing a bit. A perfect sampling of the kind of stuff that I'd eye greedily as a child in the K-Mart jewelry department. In fact, though I can produce no supporting evidence, I'm sure that at some point I owned that profoundly sexy "Twin Graph." Anyone else here of roughly the right vintage to find this to be kind of a turn-on?
