Nodus Duality Review - Origin Story

The Nodus Duality has been on my wrist everyday this week and like Tony Stark, it’s brilliant but has some flaws. I’ll preface this review by saying that this is not a technical review. If you’re looking for that, do a Google Search and you’ll find what you need. Let’s get into it!

So I came into this watch via winning the latest WC Auction. Just know that it’s pre-owned and is discontinued by Nodus. You can still find it on the secondary market.

In the last 5 days, it’s been on desk diving duties, commuting, and general day-to-day duties.

Here are my notes and impressions:

Up close and personal. Sandwich dial, framed markers and date window, 300m supercompressor style diver but with 12-hour bezel? This is an interesting and unexpected combination.

Signed crowns and buckle? Yes, please. The details on this watch are excellent standout qualities. Duality theming carried to the caseback. Designed and assembled in the US. 🇺🇸

WC Trademarked Steering Wheel and Cr0tch Shot. Enjoy yourself. I know I am 🤣

Doing some research. Working hard or hardly working?

Lume check against Seiko GMT and Divers. It’s alright. Used a UV light to activate the lume on each watch and while the Nodus is showing out, it’s not as bright as Seikos.

Beauty shot, all lit up. All by itself, she’s ready for bedtime.

After a week on the wrist, the Duality has displaced my Seiko Cocktail time and relegated it to the overflow. The Duality is both an extremely capable daily driver with the 300m water resistance and 12 hour bezel, a strange mixture that works as an all-seasons travel watch as well. I’m very impressed by the details and the overall quality, and this won’t be the last Nodus in my collection.

  • Perfect fit - 40mm x 13mm, 48mm L2L
  • Details. Curved drilled lugs, lume everywhere
  • Accuracy
  • Loud rotor. Not sure if it’s normal for a Miyota.
  • Bezel crown is tough to screw in and keep the marker at 12.
  • Bi-polar. A 300m diver supercompressor with a 12 hour bezel?

You had me at lumed dual crowns 🤯

Thanks for the review… looks great too!

Glad it found its place in your collection. This was a demo unit, so I am sure there are some things that wouldn't have passed through our QC for end customers. Looks great on the wrist though! Enjoy!

Yes, it’s a quality watch and fantastic design, even as a demo unit. Another Nodus will be joining my collection in short order👍

Really appreciate that you reached out.

Just spent a week with it on vacation and it was a great companion.

Zelos is also on my list just for the crazy lume.
