Hi folks, I thought I'd share this pic of my watches. From the left: Lorus Titanium Field watch, Casio MW-200(?) and Mondaine Big Date. For me a watch has to be three things; it needs to be accurate, legible & light. Only the Lorus & Casio achieve this. However, as you can see, there are problems. The Casio's battery has died yet again and the Mondaine simply doesn't work. I honestly think the only thing I need to do is get a domed sapphire crystal on the Lorus and it's a classic. Oh, and one for the nerds.. The canvas strap you see on the Casio is actually the original strap fitted to the Lorus. Twenty-two years ago! Not bad.

Thank you.
Why doesn't the Mondaine work? Isn't it a quartz watch?
Btw, a good, sensible collection. 👌

It is quartz and I've no idea what happened. I woke up in the morning and it had stopped so I assumed it was the battery but the watch man put a new battery in and it still doesn't work.
Where did u get that Casio strap? Looks great.

It's an odd one because I've watched countless YouTube reviews of the watch and the one - almost universal - complaint, is the strap. They all say it's rough to the touch & weak. That hasn't been my experience. I'm a gardener and so I tended to use the Casio more purely because it can be easily replaced but the OE strap for that is an abomination. So the Lorus strap's been in active service for all of its 22 years. It can stink though, hence why I started putting it (and the watch) in the washing machine. As ever, YMMV.
I hear u on that OE strap.
