In March of 2023 Hodinkee article, Patek Phillippe announced the issuance of a new watch and movement combination as part of the Calatrava collection. This white gold watch with white gold indices has a suggested retail on $37,850 (USD).

The article (which I have linked) is a neutral announcement type piece with little editorial opinion stated, beyond it appears to be an attempt to modernize the line. There is a brief discussion that this may be a result of a failed link with Ferrari that did not come to fruition. I can see that. Comments to the article were not kind.
I do not own this watch (nor the images used for non-commercial purposes) and it is unlikely that I will ever know anyone who does own the watch. I have seen an homage on AliExpress that is very similar (stats alone, may be better) selling for $127 (USD). I think this might generate some hot opinions. What are your thoughts?
