Fears Garrick

I believe the Fears - Garrick (which is a fascinating collaboration between ... wait for it ... Fears and Garrick (two British Watch Makers)) starts to ship in July 2023. Earlier last year I got to try one out in person.

This is a remarkable watch that has a lot of heft. It was bigger than I am used to but quite mesmerizing to look at. It is hand finished and has all of the essential qualities I appreciate with Fears. However, I felt it was a bit overstated and not, in the end, my cup of tea. Still, it's a great accomplishment for both brands and I congratulate them for having the vision to put it out.

This was the first time I also saw a Garrick in person, and I was impressed. Both Garrick and Fears are putting British watchmaking back into the spotlight. At £19,500 it will set you back a few beans. But honestly, you get what you pay for with these brands. They don't mess around!

Agree on the watch and the brands. This isn't the Fears for me, but I love several of the Brunswicks, esp the pink and the champagne. Garricks have great style, too, but a bit out of my price range.

I don't know about this. I assumed it was a platinum case until I read that it is stainless. The open heart displays a balance wheel and not a tourbillion. The display back reveals a simple polished bridge. No engraving, No Perlage or Côtes de Genève. No heat blued screws. No signs of hand finishing. What makes that watch sell for that ungodly price? My fear for Fears is they have just become Hublot.
