Tissot Powermatic 80

I might might be considering a Tissot Powermatic 80 for my upcoming 60th Birthday but would we appreciate any advice from the members here?

Tissot gentleman powermatic 80 is worth taking a look at as  well,  it's a tad bit more expensive though, but it's an amazing choice for a one watch collection type of a thing. Besides those two, pieces only the Longines Conquest (much closer to PRX Powermatic 80 in price if you opt for quartz) comes to mind that has a somewhat reasonable price, for those great sports pieces that can do it all, although my knowledge is pretty limited. Overall, the PRX piece is hard to go wrong with, it pretty much has everything going for it. However, if there's one suggestion I'd give is that if there's a possibility, definitely try it on your wrist, try as many options on your wrist as you can. I've seen pieces online that I thought were nothing special but at the AD they instantly won me over.

Others have noted that it wears large because it’s an integrated bracelet so just be aware of that. Since it’s going to be a gift to yourself for your 60th birthday (diamond jubilee) I’d suggest a special version such as Powermatic 80 Silver Dial with Gilt Accents. I think it looks fab. 🤌🏼

I own the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 and I absolutely love it. I've had for about 9 months and it gets a lot of wrist time. I find it pretty versatile and wear for a lot of different occasions. I wears well on the wrist and it's a quality watch.

I don't own a lot of watches. A Seiko, an Orient, a few Casios etc, but the PRX is definitely the watch that gets the most notice from other people as well. The bracelet gives it a bit of a "blingy-effect", for a lack of better words. It catches the eye. I've actually gotten quite a lot of compliments. Which never happens with other watches :)

I have it. I never wear it. I love it. But I’m selling it. It’s a great watch it looks amazing so why sell it? I can’t pinpoint why but I’m sure it’s my other watches fault. Also I love changing to straps and you can’t with an integrated bracelet.

tried one on today and............. the thing is bloody gorgeous IMO, they only had one blue face left so paid a refundable deposit if the Birthday funds don't quite make the asking price. So here's hoping.  🙏

I have recently bought a Tissot Seastar 2000 powermatic 80 with the turquise dial, I'm assuming it has the same movement, it wasn't particularly cheap at £855 but the build quality is sublime and the time keeping is pretty much the same as my Omega Seamaster planet ocean with the Coaxial movement. I'm currently getting + 1 second every 2-3 days and I am well chuffed with that.

I have a Gentleman and I really like it. It is great looking and it keeps amazing time. It is only off - 2 seconds a day.
