Play in an auction, win prices!
So it took a few days this year to acquire a new watch. Seven days to be exact, one whole week. But that's what you get for browsing auction sites when you are bored. It even leads you to buy, excuse me win, two new watches. Both the same brand. One new, one pre-owned. One quartz, one automatic. One on its way and one on my wrist to show you all.
This is my brand new Eterna 1948 legacy two tone in rose gold (plated) and steel with the Sellita 300-1. First impressions are positive. After cleaning some stubborn sticker residue of it, this dressy number really shines. I quite like it, it is not too over the top and I could even dress it down when needed.
I do like the way the light hits the applied indices and the way they did those hands with their brushed centers and polished bevels is exquisite. It makes the sunburst silver dial very legible and keeps it visually interesting. As a potential downside I guess we will see how well the deployment clasp and I get on, it's a bit fiddly for me at the moment.

Thanks! I'm not sure if it's their current production but it falls under their heritage line. Model number 2951.53. It's a 41,5mm so just about the max size for me. That day date model in your profile picture is also quite stunning. 👌

Thank you! Eterna is one of those brands I somehow always had sympathy for. With the legacy they have it's really a shame they're kind of forgotten nowadays. (Their current management doesn't really help either). But hey, us enthousiasts can at least get some great deals on them. 😂
