I got into watches through Motorcycles. cars always have clocks, but my vintage motorcycles didn’t and I wanted to keep track of time to make sure I was on time. My dad had given me a watch and I started with that. It was an unbranded Swiss quartz with the logo of my dads company (he works at a Swiss company) on the case back. Eventually I got a Tissot and things grew from there.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
it might have been a Casio digital. I didn’t keep it unfortunately.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
my Watch collecting is such a new hobby, I have no watches with interesting stories yet.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Take it easy. Don’t buy a watch as a proxy for another. it won’t scratch the itch.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
The Omega Speedmaster Professional. I think it is the most amazing watch in existence. I’m into astronomy so that of course helped. Honorable mentions to the Grand Seiko Omiwatari, the Breitling Navitimer and the Longines Legend Diver in bronze.
