Sample answers the one you like and can afford don’t make the mistake we have all probably made by buying a watch everyone else likes and says you should get if you don’t like it I’ve done it I got a Casio world time but I can’t stand the thing and have only worn it for a few minutes before taking it off I do like my lunar pilot but I don’t wear it much as it looks better in the box than on my wrist
I started my journey with three Seikos. They are awesome. Then I got a couple of Swiss watches under $2000. They are more awesome. Then I went to G-Shock. Pretty freaking awesome. Seikos are still awesome though.
Lineage is great if you like it. Get one of the titanium versions.
And for the g shocks try them in a store first. This is the only one I find really comfy with the included strap. The ga2100 is a totally different feel on the wrist and much harder strap.
Everyone needs at least one G-Shock in their collection, and with the new Casioaks being able to mod, so many custom models being made by sellers, it is a good time to find one that speaks to you.

Probably a watch that isn’t on your list yet, keep looking, that’s the fun and inexpensive part of the journey anyway :)
P.S. if you like Seikos take a look at the Alpinist and the quartz Grand Seikos.
