Wife’s 50th Birthday Present

I am thinking of buying this watch for my wife now for her 50th birthday this Fall. I found an AD that’s willing to give me a 28% discount off retail which I think is a good deal. It would have to be ordered and there’s lead time. My wife wore a Quartz Roman numerals Coach watch in her 20s but when the battery died she never replaced it. I think this has an air of timeless elegance and can be dressed up or down and would be a good replacement to her Coach. My wife wears normal dress clothes to her teaching job and usually jeans and a casual shirt/sweater on the weekends. What do you think about this as an option? Do you think it’s too fancy looking for day to day use?

Not at all! I think the contrast with casual clothes will look great. Like princess Diana with her cartier tank

I personally don’t think it’s too fancy for daily use. I think it would just come down if your wife likes wearing jewelry/watches on her wrists or not

·

Nah, it’s solid. Good choice!

·

Yeah, solid choice. Can be worn for any occasion really. Sure, it’s on the dressy side, but it is versatile enough to be used as a daily driver.

·

Think you are asking the wrong people, why not try asking her friend's

She should wear what she wants, when she wants! Great piece and Happy early Birthday to the Mrs.....

The Docle Vita is a great choice for a special lady. I got one each for both my daughters as Christmas gifts last year (pic on my wife’s wrist). While neither wears it as an everyday driver, it could certainly fill that role. And there are some really nice strap options for them as well.

FYI/FWIW - if this being too dressy is a concern, there are versions without the diamonds. My wife (not a watch person) has fallen in love with the similar Longines Dolce Vita Mini (pic below) which she feels threads the needle between dressy and understated. And because she likes that the bracelet reminds her of a disco mirrorball.
