Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

Even though I'd always liked watches and thought they were cool, I was a one watch guy until I was invited to a wedding. My one watch would have looked weird with a suit, so I started looking for another and then at a car boot (swap meet for our friends across the pond) I found a swatch Irony from 2001, BNIB for £5. So I snapped it up, and that was the first watch of my collection (one watch is a watch two watches are a collection. Change my mind). I decided to do some research about what was on my wrist and after going down the YouTube rabbit hole I found myself eyeing up new watches. And the rest is history

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

In late 2014 in the UK eaglemoss released a magazine collection of "military watches" where each watch is inspired by an era and nation. Every fortnight, for £10 youd get another watch. For example issue one was a "1970s American field watch" which was pretty much just a default field watch. Issue 2 was a flieger, etc. My Grandad bought me issue one for £2 and I wore that watch every day for the next 3 years. The movement conked out long ago but I still have it in my watchbox

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

I have a CWC G10 from 1998 that was actually worn in service

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Buy for you. Because if you buy what (you think) others want you to you won't really be happy with it so you'll buy another. And another. Mind you, even if it is true love you'll probably buy another anyway

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Swatch, Hamilton, CWC and Marathon

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

I have 3: Rolex Submariner Tudor GMT pepsi Tudor black Bay 38 I dont know why these watches attract me, but when I see them in the ad window lined up with lots of other watches, these seem to glow. It's like seeing a Countach surrounded by Honda Jazz's. The aura is just different
