Cheapo Amazon Demagnetizer - It Works!

When I first got my Cartier Santos, it was running on spec at around +2.5 seconds/day. But lately, it has been running way faster at around +10 seconds/day. Based on information I've read, the most common probable cause is that the watch is magnetized. So I downloaded a magnetometer app on my phone and low and behold, the watch had a pretty measurable magnetic field. So decided to purchase the cheapo $10 demagnetizer from Amazon. Followed some YouTube videos on how to demagnetize a watch (the pull away method was the one that worked for me) and remeasured the magnetic field on the watch which went down considerably. After 67 hours, the watch only gained 6 seconds which is around +2.15 seconds/day. So that cheapo Amazon demagnetizer does work!

Yep! I have the same one.

We used to use them all the time in broadcast radio for erasing the carts, but we used the sliding method.

Gorgeous watch, btw! 🎯

Great post. Can you let us know which app you used and a link to the Amazon demagnetizer?

I have that exact demagnetizer, and it is exactly what the doctor ordered. Most of these problems are very easy to fix… Bravo!
