I just messaged the watchmaker who sold me my Oris about spare parts for another watch and in the message I mentioned how well it was running. My luck would have it that it stopped without sign of life not even half an hour later.

The hilarity is that I've owned it for almost a year now. It's not been the most reliable, but it is seventy years old, so I give it a break. It's run poorly, but never just dropped dead before.

Thank you. I'm always slightly weary of old pin-pallets, because they were oftentimes disposable. Oris movements are great for what they are and are serviceable, but old pin-pallets are always slightly temperamental.
