Tissot Le Locle - a gift from my father

for my birthday in january my father initialy offered me a watch from tissot : the tissot classic dream (swissmatic). But it was far too big for my little wrist so we have to send it back to Tissot. To choose an other watch I wanted to stay on the same brand. Thus I have the illusion that it stills a real present from my dad.

Which watch I choose ? one of the rare from Tissot that fits on my wrist : the Le Locle.

A very underrated model in my opinion. If I find the time I will probably make a review of this watch but now I want to focus on the meaning of this watch for me.

Some of you will maybe think it was stupid but my father already has the same watch (on a black leather strap). Actually it was not exactly the same because I have the new version with the powermatic 80. I said it is maybe stupid because one day I will inherit the watch of my father and I will have the same watch in two copies.

The fact is I realy wanted this Tissot Le Locle so I was thinking : I like this watch, I buy it no matter my father have the same.

It is a little link between me and my dad (and my grand father too because it was his watch before he gave it to my dad)

Not stupid at all! A beautiful watch which sits on your wrist like a dream and has deeper meaning for you also. Sounds like perfection to me 👌

It's always so nice to read a watch story that is about connection instead of specs or prestige. Some of us just want to wear a modest but reliable timepiece.

Nothing stupid about that decision. One day you will inherit your father's watch and your son can have yours, until he inherit the heirloom. It's a beautiful connection.
