Really impressed with this little beauty, stands out amongst my other digital Casio's. Aging internals and a ridiculous backlight (it's an A158 in a fancy dress I get it) but this may just usurp my A168 as my new grab and go watch.
Maybe it's just a defect in mine but I've noticed there's a tiny notch in the silver resin case at 3 and 9 o'clock. Anyone else have a A171 with the same issue?

I don't own one yet (perhaps I'd get one in future) but I think the notches are there intentionally. Can't say why, I would assume they are their so the machine could line up the acrylic crystal on top? I do agree with you that it's one neat looking digital Casio! I love the circular case shape with the retro vibes. It may have retro components in it too, but that means it's probably gonna last a heck of a long time too!

That sounds plausible, I'll go with that to help put my mind to rest 😂.
Take the plunge, you won't regret it 👍
Ben did a video on these bad boys.Agreed with everything.Still want one of the gold ones.
Have this same watch. Agree wholeheartedly. And can confirm the notch on mine as well! Thought for sure I’d just banged it around or something.
I tend to lean with squares, bUT this round casio is more and more appealing the more I see it.
