Sometimes you just pick something up that you don’t really want, or need, but it’s just there. I paid nearly nothing for this Timex x YMC MkI collab because the battery was dead. Seriously. It came with the original box, which is a novelty, and original YMC branded strap. It’s burnt rubber coloured with a navy blue dial, and it’s ugly as sin… yet here we are, it’s on my wrist. 34mm ugly plastic pretentious quartz fashion watch. You’re welcome.

Indeed we are. I also did not know it was Thursday, so it was accidental from my side.
Another Timex wearer here today. I looked at one of these on eBay a couple of weeks ago, but the brown case just didn't appeal to me (neither did the asking price). But it doesn't look too bad in the flesh.. so to speak 🤓

I wouldn’t have bothered usually, but it was dirt cheap. I did think about giving it to my niece, but she was still wearing the pink F91W I bought her many moons ago, so left it be. My nephew graduated to a Timex x Todd Snyder I bought for myself but didn’t like, so it seemed fitting. She may well get this, down the line.
I think it’s a great watch! I’ve had many of them. Wore one like it when I was in the US Army and it served me well. I wouldn’t consider it a fashion watch but I guess that’s subjective and the pretentious part? Well maybe a little.😂maybe I just have a soft spot in my heart for Timex. Either way I like it and you got a great deal so it’s a win in my book!

Now don’t get me wrong - the Timex MkI is a good watch, the Camper is a good watch, these I am not disputing or denying… slapping YMC on the dial and the strap, charging a premium on a classic watch, that’s pretentious because “fashion” is involved. I am also an unreliable narrator - I bought it because it cost less than a meal out because someone couldn’t be bothered to change the battery. I have no beef with Timex, quite the contrary, Timex might be the most interesting brand right now.
