My first San Martin

I had very low expectations when I stumbled across this Flieger from San Martin, but I must admit it feels nice. And for that price I am quite happy about the watch and the whole shopping experience buying this through San Martins website.

I enjoy it and that is why I bought it.

I think a lot of people will be surprised by the homage watches quality. For the price you pay vs thousands of dollars for the luxury watch you get to enjoy a design and aspire to get the real thing if you choose down the line. Then you have a back up affordable watch to take on vaca without worry. 😉

sometimes it even makes you decide to not buy the luxury watch because its that good that you cant justify paying much more for a luxury version of it.

Indeed it can very well work in the opposite direction for sure. But either way your happy as the collector so that matters most. It’s your money and your wrist at the end of it.

Here’s my stance on these homage watches. When you’re looking at a watch that is multiple tens of thousands of dollars or has been discontinued and, therefore, is now way overpriced (Rolex Milgauss) the “Save up and buy the real one” argument is a little crazy. My Pagani Design Daytona homage makes me feel like I can wear a $30,000 Rolex, without wearing a $30,000 Rolex. I think a Gevril Tribeca is an amazing 6264 Paul Newman homage and seems to be the only homage watch that’s “acceptable.”

Wait until you get into Sugess. They seem, by all accounts, like amazing and REALLY high quality homages.

@Bang4BuckWatches oh no, what have you done? I was more or less blissfully unaware of sugess watches. I have seen the Seagull of course, but it is not my style, but now I have seen all they have to offer and I feel doomed. Tourbillon Masters look really nice and lots of other goodies. I wish I never got in to watch collecting, it is a deep deep rabbit hole designed to eat my meager savings. Glad I have confined myself to “affordable” watches. No luxury brands in my collection. I seem to believe more IS more :-)

Dude a quick glance I would really thought it was a german watch for sure. San Martin really hitting off. Easy and basic like that!👍
