Rent a watch

Do know that feeling. I would Like to buy a specific watch. But you know you wont like this watch to stay forever. What do you guys think about the following idea. Buy the watch cheap wear i as Long as you like it and sell it with a bit less. The Money you "loose" ist the rent you paid for owning the watch for a while. What are your experience with this?

Yea I do this all the time a hobby is supposed to cost money according to the IRS

There was a business that did this for a while but eventually went under. I think the best solution to this is a “try before you buy” program or buy it and return.

I have done this many a time. When you buy an inexpensive watch and sell for 50% or more. “Rent” feels expensive. I have given the watches to young men to get them interested in watches! They are excited and I enjoy gifting!

Maybe as I spend more time in this interest this will change, but this is my whole approach to watches. Most often I lose a few bucks, sometimes I gain a few but whatever I lose is the price of admission and is pretty reasonable, considering the amount of joy it’s bringing me

I have a couple watches I may end up keeping now, but it’s too early to call that yet
