Staib vs Staib, how does a Milanese bracelet from Staib Ostasien compare?

Hermann Staib is a well known German mesh bracelet manufacturer that produces bracelets for brands like anOrdain and even Breitling.

Recently I was looking at some Milanese bracelet options for the wonderfully standard lug width of 19mm. Of course, there aren't as many options in this size. I however did find a Staib bracelet with a width of 19mm. This got me interested because I know the brand makes a quality product, and it was really affordable.

Here's the catch, apparently not all Staib is Staib. Let me explain, Hermann Staib is the German brand that produces OEM Milanese bracelets. They also have an Asian subsidiary called Staib Ostasien. As you might have guessed, the 19mm bracelet is from Staib Ostasien.

Now the question, how does the quality of Staib Ostasien compare to their German counterpart? Is it worth the price, or are there better alternatives for a 19mm Milanese bracelet?

I have one of the Asian Staib bracelets. It's decent! The buckle leaves a little to be desired, but it's good enough considering the price. Overall, it's very comfortable and I would recommend it!

That’s great to hear. I might just go for it, it looks better than others I’ve seen and if it’s comfortable I can’t ask for more for that price.
