Taking the next step?

Sitting in my car after work at 4am. Admiring my San Martin SN0121 Pelagos homage. I now find myself thinking about getting myself an actual Tudor since I really love the fit and look of this homage.

Most all of my watches are sub $500. So I have no experience with buying the higher end watches.

Does anyone have any recommendations for buying a Tudor? Is it okay to look into used ones? Or is that too much of a risk? I was hoping some of y’all could share some experience with buying a Tudor, or any other watch of similar value. Maybe trusted websites, or anything that you feel would be good advise for this subject. I would appreciate any advice that is shared!

Not bought Tudor, but a few Omega's.

I use eBay (they have a good verification process) & buy lightly used only .

Tudor is awesome, rock solid watches. A used Tudor is a great way to get into the brand for less, the watches are strong and reliable so going second hand is no problem. If possible go check out as many as you can in person, a Tudor AD, a local used watch shop, meetups, etc. and get as many in hand as you can to see what you love, there are a lot of Pelagos' after all! But then I'd say eBay or Chrono24 are good places to start, both are safe and bursting with choices. After that buy the seller, lots of pictures, lots of info, lots of clarity, if the seller seems legit and has a good rating and good feedback go for it and enjoy, and worst comes to worse and you don't click with it just do the reverse and sell it to the next collector. Good luck!

I’ve bought Tudor at AD and plenty of other watches New and Used from EBay, in person deals from forums, and reputable websites in addition to calling an out of state retailer and purchasing over the phone sight unseen! Buy the seller.

I’d have no problems purchasing from 1916:Watchbox, Bobs, SwissWatchExpo, Crown&Caliber, Wind Vibyage, Gray & sons, Deltay Watch, Exquisite Timepieces TRF, TZ and the list goes on and on here in the states. Not recommending, supporting or associated with any of these companies, simply I’ve heard good things or had first hand experience using them.

I’d have no problems in general buying a Tudor pre owned. Buy the seller and best condition you can afford. Try on the watch you want in person if possible or purchase from a retailer with a return policy agreeable to you.

Best wishes on the journey.

I bought a Tudor at an AD though buying used isn’t a terrible idea. I’d look into a few online guides in buying used. Try to see what to look for in a seller. If something is too good to be true it probably isn’t true.

My Tudor was a big purchase for me too, and it represented a moment in my life that I wanted to celebrate so I felt like I should buy new. A line I hear regarding buying used is ‘You don’t buy the watch you buy the seller.’

I bought my Tudor black bay used. Just buy from a trustworthy source and you’ll save a ton of money.
