Wind up watch fair Chicago

I just wanted to share a few pics from the Wind Up event today in Chicago. I spent about 90 minutes wandering around and found it was well worth my time. It was great to see some watches in person that I have been curious about but have only seen via social media, YouTube, etc.

What I liked the most and appreciated seeing in person? The Oak and Oscar Olmsted I've assumed I'd like a lot and was not disappointed, I went to Lorier to look at their vintage style divers and discovered the Astra (in cosmic blue) I always thought a 36 would be too small but this fit great, the new Zodiac ceramics are killer (especially the green), I liked the Oris Kermit LESS than I thought (it's a little hard to read), I've always liked the Baltic line but the HMS really surprised me in person, the Nodus Unity really needs to be seen in person to appreciate, the Islander Northport in blue is somehow even better looking in the flesh (& getting to meet Marc was cool).

So now my "short list" is much longer than it was this morning.

If you're in Chicago I recommend stopping by. It's really a unique experience to be able to see (and try on) such a huge variety of watches with no pressure to buy.

Thanks. It’s nice to be able to drop in and get an idea of the fair from thousands of miles away! Also to hear your thoughts after seeing them in person. Too often the only way we can interact with these brands is online.

Amazing. Hope you are having fun. I was supposed to fly in, hang out in the old neighborhood and then go see a lot of watches, but alas my my wife’s travel schedule did not agree. See all in NYC.
