New Omega 75th Anniversary Edition

Which watch is your favorite model from this “Summer Blue” 75th edition Omega just released?

Now I have to admit that I am definitely going to be super biased for this release because I have always been weak in the knees for a blue dial. So this is a buffet for me as an enthusiast.

A couple of cool Easter eggs are in this release.

One of them being that as the water resistance increased in each model the darker blue the dial received to signify the ocean depth to light visibility.

Another Easter egg is this “Omega was here” being revealed only by a UV light shining on the dial.

The caseback has a laser-engraved commemorative Seamaster logo depicting a trident-bearing Poseidon and two seahorses: OMEGA’s 1956 original and the brand’s current design. Behind which sits the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8912.

I think this is a fun but serious way for Omega to get enthusiasts fired up. It would appear for each model they haven’t reinvented the wheel much at all but instead added a fun colorway that connects all 8 models to create a natural depth to light and color effect.

It’s a two thumbs up for me!

The only 2 things “negative” I have picked up about this release is

1 there isn’t to much done to charge each model at all. Essentially your getting a new dial with a specific case back.

2. They can only be purchased at a local AD. No online ordering them as of now.

What are your thoughts on this new release?

Is there anything you can add about this release?

Let’s talk about it.

This one is my favorite for sure. Go big or go home for me!

Thanks for the post! As a group it’s pretty neat but individually I don’t think I would consider these! Colorway is ok but I don’t know, I’d have to see them on a wrist. Love the concept though!

Wonder if the new iteration of the Deep Sea will be even more $$ than the previous which was around 16k cad a few months ago? Seems like Omega feels the way to elevate demand is by charging the watch buying public more and more. Of course nobody is pointing a gun to our heads to pull out a credit card.

Definitely the aqua terra in 41mm on rubber band. But why the price increase than than the normal model? Would have been interesting to see the small seconds in that batch. But the actual blue one feels already summery. Such a sleeper that small seconds models 😍

First choice is 41mm AT followed by Ultra Blue.

Yes I like the concept as well.

It would be to far out of budget for me right now anyways but I agree with you about getting them on wrist first to see how they sit. If you had to pick on from just pictures could you?

To be fair isn’t everyone everywhere raising the prices for everything? I mean don’t get me wrong this is purely a luxury item so one can definitely say there isn’t a need form to em to increase there margin and I always advocate for luxury Watch brands being more affordable than they are now but that’s never going to happen. For some money is a self regenerating system so they buy anyways. So ya

Yea I am see why the pick

That design is so sleek and interesting.

I really like how it does from Dial to sub dial to date aperture.

Just wish they did a blue date wheel 🤷🏾

Yup. Top center. clearly the nicest. And it is super nice. I just don't have this kinda money to waste on watches.

World timer for me, stunning, but I'm disappointed there wasn't a speedy.

Ohhh man that would have been dope but I guess they wanted to keep the them of the moon with that one. But I still think there could have still been a way to tie that in somehow. Maybe like a shore line with a moon in the back and have a UV print saying Omega was here pointing towards the moon in the night sky

Ultra deep. Dial is stunning!!

Yea the videos I have seen of people tryi by it on looks beautiful

It’s a pity they didn’t use the opportunity to update the 300M (especially the bracelet), but it’s now obvious this line is supposed to run alongside the normal production models. Unfortunately, this also means we won’t see big changes on the 300M in the near future.

Love what they did with the Ultra Deep, the sea floor dial is a fantastic idea and it looks stunning. And the cheeky secret message only visible to UV light is pretty cool. For me, this is the ultimate technological flex, Omega beat Rolex - multiple times.

Ummmm… it’s the 75th anniversary of the Seamaster, not the Speedmaster.

Yeah, I get that, but it would have been nice.

I still consider myself fairly new in several different aspects, and I am 100% not asking this in a mean-spirited or sarcastic way. Just truly trying to learn...

I keep seeing this very common complaint about the bracelet and no taper.

Is it the non-taper impacting how it wears? Aesthetics? Both? More I am not thinking of?

I think the non-taper is mostly looks (I doubt I would be able to feel it), but for me it’s a big part of what bothers me about the bracelet: It SCREAMS 90ies and just is chunky and huge. Not the refined, cleaner bracelet the watch deserves. You can actually see what a tapered bracelet does to the watch if you look at the rubber straps or the new mesh bracelets. The watch looks way more elegant - so I think a taper would be part of the solution.

Gotcha, thanks! That all definitely makes sense!

The blue ploprof looks so cool and perfect, looks like something straight out of Subnautica

·

Ultra Deep is the only one they really did anything cool with IMHO.

Yea bro it’s fire.

It’s a big boy watch but I’m 6’4 so I can pull it off easily

I feel like omega is underrated. They deserve more from us as Watch enthusiasts.
