Hello fellow Watch crunchers, I’m curious what sort of accuracy any fellow El Primero owners are getting. I’ve been a long time Watch collector and specifically a fan of Zenith above most Watch brands for many years. I always had real good luck once regulated with the timing of the 400 series movements that I’ve owned in the past and one that I continue to own that I’m particularly proud of.
The first of the new generation of movements that I owned was the 3620 in the zenith defy skyline. I was disappointed that even though the watch was new, it ran 10 seconds per day slow. I have since sold that to purchase a Chronomaster original with the 3600 movement and I am absolutely flabbergasted. I have owned this watch for exactly 2 weeks and it is cumulatively running just two second slow in two weeks! This makes it my most accurate watch I own, which is really saying something since I own a grand Seiko snowflake with a spring drive! I’m very curious to see what others are, experiencing both with their new watches and watches that have not been serviced in a while.
My watch collecting journey started at seven years old when my grandfather, let me take apart a mechanical watch he had that didn’t work anymore. I started off with a Hamilton and Khaki field in my la...

Also anecdotally my 2016 L Primero open power reserve has not been serviced in four years and it runs six seconds per week slow.
Anywhere from +30 to -21 and everything in between.
Never forget that a day consists of 86,400 seconds and a watch off by 30 seconds is running at an accuracy rate of over 99%.
It's all good.
I like watches.
I bought watch to tell time. I have watches from San Martin, with Seiko movement. I can regulated them to -2 -3 spd. So it is possible to have a accurate mechanical watch.

I agree with this perspective. I love watches too and as nice as it would be to have a dead accurate mechanical watch, for me it isn’t everything. Now if the watch is minutes in advance or delayed, then that’s a different story, it may be in need of service but 20-30 seconds difference in terms of +/- doesn’t bother me. A mechanical watch will always be less accurate than a quarter watch no matter how high end or well crafted the movement is.
Love the Zeniths and the Chronomasters especially. Mine have kept fantastic time.
Here's the Chronomasters in the collection so far...
My 4061 loses 20-30 sec d-1, could probably buy adjusted better, but I still love it. There is maybe also something nice in not knowing exactly, and it looks a lot better than not wearing anything on the wrist
