Is this an example of the "Chinese standard movement"?

Having looked at a wiki page on the Chinese Standard or unified movement, I suspect it is. For me the meat cleaver shaped main bridge is the big clue.

It runs at 21600bph and claims 17 jewels on the dial and has a date complication.

I'm trying to find the lift angle.

This movement is in a Dniepr-Vostok I recently aquired and the movement does not look like any Vostok I have seen before:

It seems some russian watchmakers did not mind putting chinese movements into their so-called russian products, like this Cardi Mecanique Cristal:

I doubt a russian made movement would have "17 ZUAN" stamped on it.

Then again, Russia is pretty much a vassal state of China so anything’s possible

I haven't seen a Dneipr Vostok before? Interesting that the dial says in English made in Ukraine?

Is it even a genuine vostok or just a Chinese copy in the first place?

That is one thing that fascinated me about this watch. I've seen other D-V's on ebay but not like this one. I'm not sure how Vostok would have felt about having their name on the dial with a non-Vostok movement.

The Chinese copies of Vostoks I have seen tend to be pretty awful and won't fool folks like us.

Yep from my limited knowledge I reckon it's a copy rather than the genuine article. I can't imagine Vostok using Chinese movements despite the deep crap their country is in at the moment!

Since Vostok manufacture their own movements I don't see why they'd use one from elsewhere, unless it gave them a complication they don't make. Even then they'd probably develop their own.

That’s sad that there trying to get over on people who don’t know better thinking g there getting a Russia movement.

On the other hand, when you look into the fine print of what "Made in Germany" and "Swiss Made" actually mean, maybe using a decent quality Chinese movement is not such a bad thing.
