I bet you have all been there...

In my short period of watch collecting I quickly found out everybody has their own paths while a lot of them tend so be somewhat similar.

I am looking for a everyday beater but it should not be just "any" if you know what I mean.

So my best buddy owns a Casio Duro and I totally like it! So after doing some research and ohs and ahs, the meanwhile no more produced Duro Marlin caught my full attention. Especially the blue dial One. It's not that easy to stumble across a new one here in Germany it seems. I found a offer for 115 € which is a lot more than it was on retail price, I know.

Since everybody is having their own ups and downs and surely knows what I am going through rn I am not asking for advice but maybe your stories or opinons or maybe even some tips for similar watches. Or maybe I just had to tell my struggle to an understanding audience. Thanks for reading Crunchers. 👋🏻

The blue Duro stands out to me in a way the other ones don't. Shame about the price, I know it fluctuates but not at twice the retail price. Maybe look at a used watch, I've been pretty lucky on ebay.

The Citizen Promaster Diver is a good alternative that you can find below RRP almost everywhere.

Great watch RNG, I have one too, so many divers too little cash, for a microbrand that are getting bigger long island watches do some good stuff

I have the original Casio Duro and put it on an oyster bracelet with a milled clasp. The bracket and clasp were bought on AliExpress grand total for both bracelet and clasp was about $75 CDN. The Casio Duro I bought several years ago on Amazon for $50 CDN with a rubber resin strap - Garbage strap!

I can't believe this watch is now over $100 CDN. Have you looked at the Orient Mako? Or even AliExpress watches like Loreo, Pagani Design, WatchDive? At €115 Euros you can find something very similar with an NH35 automatic movement, sapphire crystal, 316L stainless steel with a milled clasp and solid endlinks.

This is the Loreo for $75 CDN all day on AliExpress with a Sea-gull ST16 movement.

These 3 all under $300 CDN grand total.

Good luck with your search and decision! Stay Thirsty My Man 🍻👊🏽

I was out with a friend who wore a black Duro today, great watch, truky does it all and the blue is such a good color

As @TimeOnTarget said, look used. There will prolly be someone in the EU that is selling one, so you can avoid massive shipping fees.

I picked up my black dial on massive discount since the battery was out. This was before they went trendy, so was for $25-30-ish dollars (I think, it's been awhile don't judge 😉) at a Base Exchange (shopping mall type store on a US military base).

Be warned, they are big, like REALLY big, 44mm. I've noticed most googly eyed talking head reviews only do close ups, and holding it, cuz otherwise they'd have to hate it....since the vaunted Duro is not the trendy 36-39mm, 20mm lug darling 😂.

I really hope one day Casio releases a smaller diameter, with a fish on it, maybe called the "Mackerel"...😝
