After taking the case back off my longines hydroconquset to have a look of I could regulate the time as it runs a little slow. I was very surprised with the quality of the movement decoration. It’s a shame it’s a Solid case

I have the same caliber in a Conquest Classic and it’s got a sapphire case back. I wonder why it’s solid on the hydro. Perhaps for depth rating.

Yeah most probably I guess
Beautiful! This is the only thing holding me back from getting a Spirit Zulu Time. I want to be able to see the movement!

I can understand that to be honest I’m not that fussed about Display case backs but it’s probably because all of my watches with them have the seiko NH35 movement with no decoration

Same but the stock caseback is nice
My Longines has a display caseback. Grande Vitesse with the Valjoux 7750 inside.

That's true, it is a great looking caseback at least!
The 2892 is a pretty nice one with this longines rotor.
Less prone to component failure and could be made thinner, only a gasket. With display caseback, you have additional glass and its gasket with the structurally only metal ring for the case back.
Sometimes even if you can't see it, it's nice to know there's something pretty working away in there
