My grandfather and mother both had two tone seikos. I remember picking them up as a kid and thinking they were so heavy! I also remember going to the mall to get my moms battery changed. When I got my first job, I used to get yelled at for having my phone out too often checking the time. So I got I got (two) seikos of my own, and I made sure to get automatic watches so I wouldn’t have to worry about the battery. That was almost 15years ago, those watches are still in my collection, and running to this day.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Two seiko monsters (first gen) one black and one orange.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Buy what you love, don’t be afraid to go down a rabbit hole, expect to lose a bit of money every time you flip a watch (especially early on), and don’t settle. If there’s something you really want, put in the work, save up, and get it!
