Just found this

1985, wearing the Original Seiko Ceramic / Titanium Quartz 1000m Tuna Diver. This pic was taken at the start of week 1 of my 20 week Military diver training at HMS Vernon. This watch over the next 7 years went through hell, and never missed a beat. Unlike my Rolex submariner that got fucking destroyed.

Hopefully, you still have that Golden Tuna. I still have mine, but like you some of my watches were destroyed over the duration of my military diving career.

John, I have no words, other than I sold it after it had been in a draw for over 20 years 😭 that is one of my biggest watch collecting mistakes.

I am on the hunt for a replacement, but it has to be the OG. I will find one. The Japanese market currently looks the most favourable

I've only ever been a PADI open water diver and that was a good few years ago but it's good to see posts from blokes who have military or commercial diving experience on this forum.

The one subject that gets my goat is people owning expensive tool divers and not wanting to even get them wet!

I know it is and should be each to their own but really!?

Realistically a Dive watch is now an obsolete technology, Diving now is just like everything else, computerised. I have been diving with a dive computer for years. Ironically they are far cheaper than than a mid priced dive watch 🤦‍♂😂

I mean who would have thought you would have a transmitter on the tank syncing your air time ! 🤿

I am a little obsessed with dive watches, but haven’t worn one for it’s intended purpose for a very long time. What bugs me more is the ‘It’s only got 100m WR’ that drives me nuts 🤦‍♂

However I wear my divers in all environments and tasks. Not just for weddings and wrist flexing, However I can advise getting gloss on a calf skin strap isn’t advisable 😂

Totally agree. Even when I was recreational diving pretty much all of my mates used computers rather than watches!
