Tudor Ranger 39mm on Nato

This is my most recent purchase. This watch was on my short list for two main reasons. I wanted Field Watch and I was also wanted a 39mm sized watch. Both I neither had before.

I keep a list of “would like to own” just in case the opportunity arises.

In short, I was in Dubai over the New Year. And after getting hands on with most of the watches on my List, I went for the Tudor.

I bought it in the bracelet. The bracelet is amazing and I love it. It’s my second favorite.

Currently on the Nato because I was in a cycling accident with a car and my left arm is in a sling. I move a watch back and forth from arm to arm right now. But the Tudor bracelet feels a bit weird on my right. And I don’t like how it rubs against Felix the Cat.

The Tudor was the watch I was wearing when I went down. Yes I ride with my watches. Yes, it was the first thing I checked when I got up. And yes the bracelet did get scuffed. Still keeps amazing time.

The Zuludiver Octopod set up is awesome. I love it. Originally bought for my Speedmaster.

Cheers,

Madminga

Can’t go wrong with that choice. Speedy healing (Omega reference for the Ranger).

Looks great with That NATO perfect match

Glad your cycling accident didn't result in any serious, long-term injury!

The Ranger, IMHO, is definitely one of the very best looking of the more simplistically-styled watches on the market! I can see why Mark (of Long Island Watches) and TGV used it as inspiration for their collaboration <thumbs up>

Thank you! Was wearing the TR in the bike ride. Sorry for any confusion. My writing skills are not the best!

Thanks you! Yes, I agree! First time I put it on the Nato and love how the black strap works with the dial and it really emphasizes the red tip of the second hand for me!

Thank you! I agree! The simplicity is the attraction for me. Easiest watch for me to read. I’m North of 50 and sadly not the easiest to read my watches at a glance.

Thanks again, accident resulted in a minor fracture in my clavicle. No bicycle riding for a while and definitely could have been worst for sure. So I’m grateful.

I think the confusion is on my part. I was trying to make a joke about a "Speedy" recovery. I was putting an Omega reference in about your Tudor post.

I hear you sir ... am more than a decade "North of 50" m'self and yes, the 'ol eyesight definitely ain't what it was in my younger daze! LOL!!

and I feel for you ... being older, we generally don't heal up as quick anymore, that's fer sure. Had a proverbial "little old lady" rear-end me while I was stopped at a red light (on my motorcycle) last summer. Low speed impact, but I did come off of the Bike and hit the ground ... luckily no serious injuries other than a sore butt, a bit of whiplash and some bruising (both butt and ego) LOL!!

Hope you make a full recovery soon man!

Thank you! Much I love about being north of 50 ( watches for sure 😂) but yes the physical is not one of them. Well at least we gotta work harder to keep it, but important to live life. Glad your incident was alright for you. And yes the ego gets beat up for sure!

You should get a Felix the cat watch.

Are there any alternatives to the octopod? Less expensive?

Can u use any nato for it? Or do u need specific ones made for the buckle

The do have a traditional nato made out of the same material which is great as well.

Sorry just saw this, I haven’t tried because it doesn’t look like it would work.

Yeah, looks like you need that specific band for that buckle. I'm going to get one! Thanks for showing it. I really like the look of it. 👍😎

No Problem! Yes it’s pretty cool and different from anything else out there. Esprit you like deployment clasps!

Now that I think about it, ID Guy on YouTube buys regular deployment clasp and puts it onto regular natos.

Definitely unique. Some are unhappy with the price, but just over $100 for that beautiful clasp and a good looking nylon strap seems very reasonable to me.

Oofff, yeah the price. I wanna say when I purchased it was $70/75 but I think they are in version 2 and mine version 1. Not to mention inflation.
