My One Watch for 13yrs

A Father’s Day present from my Kids and wife at a time. I wanted to get back into a grown-up watch before that I would use my cell phone and I had an occasional pocket watch. I did grow up with watches so I had an idea of what I wanted, but the sales person helped me out a lot. I selected the Oris because it is a black and had a rubber strap at the time. It also had 50 m of water resistance. 13 years this was my only watch. I wore it for everything. I swam with it for exercise; I went to the beach, and snorkeled with it. No issues until 2017 it fogged up while I was sitting in a hot tub. I got it fully serviced for $250. It still runs great today. I started purchasing more watches in 2019. Out of all my watches this is the one my oldest wants it. The one I wore to her wedding. I don’t wear it much but it feels good to throw it on from time to time.

That watch must have so many memories attached to it. Sometimes I wish I could be one watch guy, but it’ll never happen for me.

So many memories! I’m not there anymore. I have purchased a watch per year now. But was very satisfying just to have one watch.

Ahh the "Alant Grant" from Jurassic Park 3

A watch with a history all your own - it doesn't get better than this! Thanks for sharing your watch story.

Wow, an amazing read. I wore one watch for a long time also, a citizen eco-drive titanium navihawk. It’s the second oldest watch in my collection at 17+ years. One of the earliest eco drive watches, likely among the first. I wore it for most of my daughters’ lives, during the most important moments of my long time wife/best friend, and it was on my wrist for two tours in Iraq as a Marine, after all it’s non-magnetic. My daughters know this watch well. I told them, it actually made them tear up, that they could sell all my watches after I’m gone but that I wanted them to keep that one. The one that bares the marks of my life. Of course they said they would keep them all. Amazing how these time pieces become priceless the longer we wear them. Cheers to you and your amazing Oris🍻
