The watch that started it all for me: the Junghans Max Bill. At first I got a white dial quartz one. One day I crushed the crystal and threw it away. The second one I got was this black dial automatic watch. I loved it, but over time I started to dress more casual for work and didn’t wear it as much anymore and sold it. Maybe I get one again someday, maybe the 35mm hand wound model?

Vostok Amphibia (Milspec Dial) that was a gift from my father many years ago.
And the Max Bill Junghans are amazing design - being Bauhaus of course. Very nice watch to start off with IMO.
My wife gifted me this Speedy in 2019 and Pandora's Box was officially open for business.
I love the font of the "4" on the max bill....it´s so cool

That’s a pretty decent „first watch“! you must have a lovely wife to gift you such a nice watch

Oh yes! That 4 really makes the dial!

I've definitely been very fortunate to find a great human being to spend my life with. She's one of the most balanced, hard working, honest and intelligent people I've ever met. I initially thought marriage wasn't something I wanted to do but life had other plans.

I agree. I don’t like the versions without the numbers just because I want to see the 4
Why did I have to learn what mechanical watches are? WHY ME?
