Blacked out Alpinist

This shot is from Hondinkee’s article on the subject but looks like Seiko’s bustin’ out three of its most popular references in blacked out versions. I want to focus on the Alpinist for a minute here. I love me a blacked out watch. It appeals to my inner wannabe navy seal in just the right way, but I’m torn on the Alpinist, mainly because that gorgeous green dial is a big part of the appeal. What are your thoughts on a blacked out Alpinist?

Its already out here in SG, and was a bit of a letdown. The pics looks alot better 😂

But YMMV

The beautiful green dial Alpinist with gold hands and numerals is on my "buy list", I definitely won't be swapping it for this boring black version.

Well that’s disappointing to hear. Now I want to see one in person!

Yeah, I tend to agree. That green dial is pretty stunning!

Mmmmmmm no ... as far as the stealth Alpinist goes. Like others here the green n' gold is classic and a bit of a "grail" for me. Now if they weren't just so "spendy" LOL!

Having owned and given away a SARB017, the blackout version seems strange, though I can't say ugly. To be honest, I don't care for black watches anyway, they just don't look good on my wrist.
