Bought this Bulova A15 Pilot and I’m very pleased with it. Lovely finish and running +4 per day. NATO strap transforms the look . Well priced for the spec too. It’s a keeper - plus not one but Two inner bezels to fiddle with . 👍
One of my favorite pilot watches. I really think if the watch would of been issued to the air force not just testing. it would of been at the level of the German fliegers.
History:
In 1944, the United States Army Air Force Air Technical Service Command started testing the Bulova A-15 "Elapsed Time Watch." The watch never moved out of the testing phase into large-scale production. But 76 years later, Bulova is giving that model a second lease on life by putting it into standard production.
How does that watch run it looks amazing I don't know if I should get this for myself
Runs very well , don’t believe everything some reviewers say. I’m glad I didn’t . Runs + 4 sec a day . I can’t feel or hear any rota movement from the watch unless I put it against my ear! On my nato strap I’ve not had any unwanted crown rotation in daily wear . Not sure on the leather strap as I changed it straight away. For under £400 I got it for its punching well above its weight in my opinion anyway.
Yes it handwinds and hacks. I don’t know what your taste is in straps but I think you could try anything you like. It’s part of the pleasure of ownership. 👍
Collecting watches for 30 years , high quality to start with however ended up selling virtually all and collecting more affordable ‘good’ watches , seiko, casio, omega (older) . Love watches, fascinat...

#fidget toy 😂.
In all seriousness they are pretty cool. Most of Bulova's reissues of their prototypes have been sharp looking to me.

Thank you very much for the input helps a lot with me finding a new watch
And does it have hand wound and hacking and do you also think it would look good on a green or brown NATO strap
Yes it handwinds and hacks. I don’t know what your taste is in straps but I think you could try anything you like. It’s part of the pleasure of ownership. 👍
