Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Review

This is my first review, hopefully, you find it enjoyable and useful.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is an excellent smartwatch for those looking for a device that can do it all. With advanced fitness tracking features, a sleek design, and a long battery life, this watch is perfect for anyone who wants to stay connected and stay on top of their fitness goals.

One of the best things about the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is its advanced fitness tracking capabilities. Whether you're a runner, a cyclist, or love lifting weights, this watch can track your progress and help you stay motivated. The watch also has a built-in GPS, so you can track your route and distance without needing to bring your phone with you.

The watch's design is also top-notch. The watch's sleek, minimalist look is perfect for those who want a smartwatch that looks like a traditional watch. The watch is also lightweight and comfortable to wear, so you can wear it all day without any discomfort.

The battery life of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is also impressive, with up to three days of battery life on a single charge. This is perfect for those who are always on the go and don't want to worry about running out of battery.

My personal preference is to keep location tracking off unless I'm doing a run, no Wi-Fi, AoD off, and keep the battery saver mode on. You might think, what's the point of a smartwatch if you turn everything off? Well for me it still does everything I need very well, and when I need to track a run I turn the location back on. With these settings, I've easily got 4 full days and even squeezed in another 12 hours (totalling around 110 hours on a full charge).

It's not all perfect though and there are some issues I have with it. The GPS tracking can be inaccurate at times, reducing or increasing the run distance due to it not tracking me accurately. This isn't a huge issue for me as I run for fun and fitness, and it's only off slightly.

The other thing is its Water Resistance of 50m. For a "Pro" watch, I would have liked to see at least 100m of water resistance, just to offer some comfort when wearing it swimming or even consider taking it diving (this isn't intended for that though). Nonetheless, neither of these has put me off so I imagine for most casual smartwatch wearers it's perfectly fine as is.

For Android (especially for Galaxy Phone users) I think this watch is really good and well worth the money. Samsung always has great offers and trade-in deals, so keep an eye out for those if you want to pick one up.

Let me know if you liked the review and if you have any questions.

Thanks for reading!

I like mine too and although dimensions are large it doesn’t feel big on the wrist.

great at tracking health and fitness and pairs seamlessly with android phone and Samsung health app for lots of info post exercise.

not sure many of us would go diving too 50 m so a non issue for me.

also agree that battery staying power is good,I easily get 3 full days out of mine with gps, bios enabled from time to time and exercise tracking.

I love wearing it. Had it around a month now and no isses. Runs smooth and battery life is just as good as when new.

Thanks for the response and I hope you enjoy it.

By the way, have you kept the stock strap or changed it? I bought a strap from Aliexpress (one of those velcro cloth type ones) and much prefer that to the rubber one Samsung supply.

I currently have a health condition so I am using it for monitoring my stats when I’m out and about or exercising and it seems pretty accurate. The good thing is that I can share my stat results with the specialist at anytime painting a better picture for her on keeping an eye on me

I still have the original strap but have looked at others. The bands magnet is certainly strong and isn’t going to come loose easily.

Glad I purchased and would recommend to others who are running Android phones

Take it easy

Yes the health monitoring is really well integrated. Being able to do an ECG, and blood pressure monitoring on the go is really good! I need to recalibrate my blood pressure but I really like it! Glad it's of use for your health monitoring :)
