This time, inspired by katanas.
If there is anything an extremely online American, irrespective of background, would appreciate, is a katana. Good move by Grand Seiko.
Jokes aside, the two non-limited colorways are awesome. I like how they really lean into the gold elements and use it for the power reserve indicator. They are not trying to hide it, and I appreciate it.
I’m normally not a big fan of the 44GS case, especially on a watch without a GMT or dive bezel, but I need to check these out in person, the dials might make me reconsider.
Prices doesn’t seem to be too high either at $5600. You’re not paying Omiwatari or Evolution 9 money for these.

I know a certain someone who may or may not have one of these on the way... @ChronoGuy, do you know anyone who might have ordered one of these?

Leave it to GS to make stunning dials, simply impressive!
Hate ton admit it but these are a miss for me. The power reserve looks really out of place & ruins all of the dials in my opinion. The red one is nice but the texture really reminds my of the GO Sixties range. The other looks to have taken a lead from the Seiko Matcha.
Red and green dials looks interesting, but I’ll reserve judgement on all until I see in person, if I’m ever able to. Would love a 44gs case someday.
Since Canada rarely gets anything, ☹ it’ll have to wait till my next trip southward.
