The Gevril Tribeca is a sincere and faithful homage to the single most famous watch of all time, the Rolex
As a proud owner of a Steinhart OVM homage to Rolex Milsub, I am happy to see an expansion of homage products in new directions :)

I don't think this is aimed at me, more than likely aimed towards people who buy a $7'000CAD watch the same way I buy a $90CAD Swatch. Personally, I do not see the goal in buying a homage that is so expensive, when you can get many other options out there.
I understand Steinhart because they are $600CAD watches that mimic $12'000CAD watches. I guess in the same scope you are paying for a watch that normally costs 20x more.
A Gevril with a Sellita based chronograph for $6K? Get real.
I have their original S0111 model in quartz. While it was a nice piece when it "re-launched" the brand, they've turned into a purely homage company since then. They aren't worth what they charge.
I'd recommend getting a Speedmaster Moonwatch for the same money.
No particular love or hate for homages one way or another, but the Gevril is rather expensive for a Valjoux 7750 derivative. I'll be curious how fast the even super limited run ends up going.
There are a lot of really great chronographs in that price range. Speedmaster Moonwatch/Tudor panda at retail, Zenith El Primero Revival/Breitling B01 on the grey market aand those are just the inhouse (more or less) guys.
A lot of great 7750 powered ones out there too (Zelos Vitesse, the new Baltic, Hamilton intramatic, a ton of Sinns and IWCs), most of which are significantly cheaper.
Competition is fierce. Great time to be a watch buyer!

Super excellent points.
I'd get a Sinn 103 and put $5k back in my pocket.
