ALI EXPRESS HELP ISSUES

Less than a week ago I bought my 3rd watch on Ali Express. First 2 were Sugess, and all was fine. The 3rd was a 1970 Willard style Steeldive. Basically the watch was a non worker on arrival and now I am having a bad time trying to get a full refund-no pun intended. So far the seller fails to respond clearly and Ali text chat and escalations promise all but deliver zero so far, despite 6 attempts to resolve this. It feels ugly folks-you have been warned.

I have just had to send a watch back that arrived as a non runner. When I raised a dispute I had to upload a video of Me setting and winding the watch to evidence the fact it wasn't working. Have you dome the same. If you don't follow AliExpress return policy to the letter, you will get nowhere. My dispute ended in my favour BTW.

Ah damn... I was just wanting to pull the trigger on the Willard.

But You're the second person to have the same problem. Wich seller was it? Color of the dial?

My comment was not about the Willard, the watch I had to send back was a Cadisen. The dispute process is the same though.

I did not try a video-I though that a bit extreme. Ali and not the seller offer me around 50% of the costs in refund and that seems to be all they will do. Looks like will keep the watch and try and fix it myself. They don`t seem to allow me any further discussion.

It was a standard black dial with female end links around 74 sterling. Sold by official Steeldive. They also charged another 13 on top for VAT-so actually 87.80.

Ah, it seems you may have cut your nose off to spite your face there. Without the video as evidence, they have no way of knowing if your complaint is genuine or not. At least they offered you 50% off without one.

I sent clear photos and evidence of outer packaging. They never insisted on a video ( I could not conceive of what to video until your post), and I have never heard of a company asking for one until now. Never mind, I will write to the local mayor in Hangzhou where Ali is based to see if that has any effect. When you do something for the first time with no clear communication it is nigh impossible to do things "right", especially when totally different mindsets and cultures are concerned.
