Chinese watch company opinion
How does everyone feel about brands such as San Martin and the like. I have never really been a fan oh these types of brands but I saw one from San Martin (a sort of milsub homage) that I thought looked so good I couldn't pass it up.

I think that it's clear by now that San Martin do deliver crazy quality for the price. They do however steal all designs and I don't like that.. I have less issue with it in cases of vintage and other "unavailable" models like the one you get there.

Agreed, Im don’t like the strait up copies of mondern watches. The thing is if San Martin would do some nice original designs they could do very well I think.

Depends on the designs 😅 But they would probably earn less.
Not all of us can get or afford the watches that are the inspirations for the homage watches.
As long as these brands are clearly homaging/copying & not making fakes, I really don't care. They obviously aren't competing with Rolex and the rest
The brands of the inspiration watches clearly do not care either or these homages/copies would not exist, after their makers were sued into oblivion. So if the copied brands aren't worried, why should I care that they exist?
The old expression that you get what you pay for still applies. You will receive a well-built watch for the price, even though the prices for San Martin are creeping up.
Some parts may still feel like they came out if the AliExpress parts bin, because they did. The finishing of these watches won't be close to the watches they copy.
I wouldn't expect much service from these companies, either. But, you will get very decent specs for the price.
I would personally rather buy something from an AliExpress micro brand or even Sea-Gull, simply because they are not a copy.
