Wristwatch Art:)

I’ve been obsessed with looking at vintage watches and the history of the designs. I love the old advertising and overall look of the vintage watches. I don’t have the cash flow for a vintage watch nor the $ for upkeep. So for now I’ll make some illustrations of them and just admire from afar:) This Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is so rad:)

Of course you have the $ for a vintage watch. You can obtain one for much less than you think. It just won't be a Fifty Fathoms or other high end watch.

Find one online that runs, sets, and keeps time. The "keeps time" is rarely stated because it rarely occurs. Set a budget, some watches you will just have to let go if the bidding gets too high. But you will surprised what you can buy for under $100, $50, or even $25. For a while I was into old Soviet watches. Shipping was almost always the equivalent or more than the purchase price.

Watch, shipping, and new band set me back less than $50.00. It kept good time for me. (I eventually gave it away because I wasn't wearing it.)

Knowledge is the barrier to owning old watches, not necessarily money. (Money fixes the knowledge problem, usually.)

Not sure how I missed this, but amazing drawing! I hope you’re a graphic artist by trade, might want to rethink your day job if not.

Hey, thank you:) I am a freelance graphic designer, artist and mural painter. I recently re found my love for watches… it’s elements combine all my interest in to one object. I’d like to do a series of watch illustrations for prints, tshirts….etc. if you are on Instagram you can find more of my work @jpawleyp or my new account @walkswithwatches

Thanks again for the kind word:)🤙
